March 2014 The historic event took place in a Seattle basement: Jo Smitty, Mark Arm, Leighton Beezer, Scott Schickler, Mike Falhauber and Ed Fotheringham started to get The Thrown Ups and Mr. EPP in a supergroup mashups together. They playing together and kept practicing. This was the re-birth of "scrunge" , they titled band; The Thrown Epps!

"As the song says, "we're calingl it 'scrunge' this time, just to make sure it's branded right." The present is not nostalgia, it's way better now than it was then. Waiting for the school bus in 1980, it was easy to imagine that David Bowie wanted to borrow my black satin baseball jacket, now he's gone and we're still here. We're all lucky to be alive, burned alive in the grave of rock and roll."
